This White Bread Recipe is easy to make and tastes so delicious and buttery that it falls apart in your mouth. This recipe will make about 3 loaves.
– 1Kg of Bread flour (about 6 cups)
– 2 tablespoons of white sugar
– 1 large egg
– 2 1/2 cups of warm milk (around 110 F)
– 20g of rapid dry yeast (about 2 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon full)
– 1 cup of vegetable or canola oil
– 1/2 tablespoon of salt
– Pam spray
HOW TO MAKE IT:
Start adding warm milk into the KitchenAid Mixer bowl, it has to feel warm but not too hot, test it on your finger, if it feels too hot, you need to cool down a little bit. Sprinkle dry yeast and sugar and give it a quick mix, cover with a towel and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, the mixture should be puffed up and bubbly. With the hook attachment on, start the mixer on speed 2 and add egg and oil, mix it well. Start adding bread flour, the quantity will depend on the weather, I ended up using more than 6 cups, so add flour little by little, just enough to make it not stick in between your fingers. This dough will stick to the bottom of the bowl, so the test is only to the touch, once it is not sticky anymore, you let the mixer do its work and knead the dough for about 10 minutes. I usually knead the dough by hands after the mixer, just to make sure it looks smooth.
Meanwhile, you will need a big bucket or bowl, since this dough will rise a lot, the bowl needs to be deep or large, spray Pam spray all over the bottom and sides of the bucket and when the dough is ready, transfer the dough into this bowl, spray a little Pam spray on the top of the dough to prevent from drying, cover with a kitchen towel and let it dry for about 1 hour in a warm place. As usual, if it is too cold, you can warm up your oven for a few minutes (can’t be too hot, otherwise it will cook the dough), turn it off and then place the dough inside for about 1 hour. Or you can use the sunlight, easy and free 🙂
This dough will make 2 big loaves and 1 small, or however you prefer. I like baking my bread in the loaf pan to give it a nice shape, but you can use whatever baking pan you prefer. Spray the pans with Pam spray bottom and sides.
On a clean surface, sprinkle a little bit of flour and pour the dough. I like kneading a little bit with my hands, just to make sure it will reach that softness. Cut the dough into as many loaves you would like, shape it however you prefer, and if you are using a cake pan, make sure you leave room between the loaves because it will rise again.
Cover the pans with a towel and place it somewhere warm again for another 40 minutes.
Bake your loaves in a 350 F pre-heated oven for about 30-35 minutes or until Golden Brown.
This bread is so delicious and so soft and smells so good, that all your neighbors are going to show up at your door 🙂
